ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Copenhagen-based 3D printing studio 91-92 (ninetyoneninetytwo) presents a series of objects inspired by the fluid forms of sea creatures. Utilising only recycled PETG or PET material, these three organic forms – a vase, a bowl and a side table, create a series of intriguing and functional forms, whilst also allowing each piece to be produced without the need for support material – eliminating any material waste. The series forms part of an ongoing exploration into the role of 3D printing towards a more sustainable production model; local, utilising material waste and reducing energy consumption.
Material and dimensions:
Recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate), recycled PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified).

LONG DESCRIPTION:
The Ctenophora Vase, Echinoidea Bowl and Morning Dip Side Table present a combination of organic, amorphic shapes and hazy transparency to transport you into the calming depths of the ocean. Designed and produced by Copenhagen-based 3D printing studio 91-92 (ninetyoneninetytwo), the pieces are a key visual reminder of the importance of our marine life – while the utilisation of recycled PET and PETG plastics gestures to the resting place of a large percentage of the world’s plastic waste – our oceans and waterways. 91-92 are heading a contemporary shift in production and distribution of designer products, a model based on locality, technology and responsible use of material. For the three organic forms presented, all have been created to utilise 3D printed production methods without the need for construction supports – eliminating material waste. None of their products use virgin material and all are made to order on demand.

Studio founded in 2020 by Zeyu Rong, born 1991 and Weibo Sun, born 1992.
91-92 is a Copenhagen-based 3D printing studio. The role of the studio is to design, develop, and produce everyday objects and furniture made from recycled plastic. They believe that 3D printing technology is positioned to become more involved in our sustainable daily lives by localising production, minimising material waste, and reducing energy consumption. From their foundation in 2020, ninetyoneninetytwo have made a commitment to work only with recycled materials. All the products are designed in a peculiarly yet reasonable shape which can be 3D printed without support material, allowing their products to minimise production waste.
