About:

Each of Cecilie Manz’ projects begin – first and foremost, with functionality at their core. Whether working with industry or creating for a self-imposed brief, her studio approaches the discipline of design as that of the problem solver. From her studio in the heart of Copenhagen she forms objects through a hands-on process of model making and testing – each iteration refining down form whilst simplifying function. Obstacles and limitations are seen as opportunities within her process to find unique solutions through her attention to detail and inherent connection to materiality. Working with the material that best relates to each project and purpose, her creations are constantly forward thinking – developing long-lasting products through their design language, materials and manufacturing.
