About The Mindcraft Project

Elevating designers and makers from Denmark

Since 2008, The Mindcraft Project has worked to elevate Danish designers and makers by showcasing them to a global audience.

For more than a decade, The Mindcraft Project presented Danish craft and design in annual exhibitions in Milan. Today, The Mindcraft Project is a digital platform with a considerable international following. The platform offers exclusive designer profiles, videos, digital exhibitions, interviews, and articles that highlight designers and makers from Denmark.

We believe that the artistic, explorative and experimental design practices serve as fundamental research in our society. In a meeting between design, craftsmanship, art and technology, the Danish designers and makers in this particular field address future challenges and opportunities, and inspire to new ways of thinking, making, and living.

The Mindcraft Project (formerly MINDCRAFT) was initiated in 2008 by Danish Crafts with the inaugural exhibition during Milan Design Week 2008. The annually recurring exhibition project has received considerable critical acclaim throughout the years for its curated thematic content and varying participants.

From 2008 to 2013, the exhibitions were organized by Danish Crafts.
From 2014 to 2018, the exhibitions were organized by Danish Arts Foundation.

Since 2019, The Mindcraft Project has been led by Copenhagen Design Agency with support from public and private foundations and sponsors.

The Mindcraft Project works with changing curators for the annual exhibitions.

In 2023, the exhibition is curated by Danish multi-disciplinary designer Sara Martinsen.

From 2020 to 2022, the exhibitions were curated with curatorial advice from dedicated advisory board members: Julius Værnes Iversen (Creative Director and Founder of TABLEAU), Marie-Louise Høstbo (Head of Design at Fritz Hansen), David Thulstrup (Founder and Creative Director of Studio David Thulstrup), Nicolai de Gier (Head of Furniture and Object Design at the Royal Danish Academy and Design Director at TAKT), Mette Barfod (Editor In Chief of Ark Journal), Jamiee Williams (Architect, Strategy, Innovation, Climate, former SPACE10 and CHART Art Fair), Maria Foerlev (Owner of Etage Projects), Niels Strøyer Christophersen (Founder & Creative Director of Frama), Henriette Noermark (Independent Curator).
