Line Depping — Designer

“I thrive in finding interesting, insisting forms that invite the viewer to explore the product further. To me, the aesthetic, perceptive and irrational are just as valuable as the rational.”

About:

Working from the town of Saltuna on the Danish island of Bornholm, the creations of Line Depping bring a sense of order whilst celebrating the chaos of everyday life. With a penchant for wood and the possibilities that lie within her chosen material, her work crosses from explorative exhibition pieces to expertly detailed production ready designs. Consistent across all her work is the expression of natural and well-proportioned forms that invite daily use, making space for the irrational human aspects of life where love for an object derives from more than simple function. Often working on commercially focused design alongside Jakob Jørgensen, together they explore notions of assembly and disassembly – creating work that is well-positioned functionally, environmentally and logistically for design in the twenty-first century.
