Margrethe Odgaard — Textile and Colour Designer

About:

Applying her trade from Islands Brygge just over the bridge from the Danish capital, textile and colour designer Margrethe Odgaard approaches her practice as an advocate for the thoughtful use of colour within architecture and design. With textiles and pigments as her medium, she has worked alongside some of Denmark’s most established design companies whilst establishing her own artistic practice – focusing throughout on the interactions between colour, material and space. Always with an eye on the sensory well-being of those who interact with her work, she is constantly studying the nature and effect of colour within materials – a symbiotic relationship completely dependent on one another. Through a careful and iterative approach to design and research, she creates spaces, surfaces and objects that contain an innate longevity and sincere approachability.
