Mathias Bengtsson — Designer and Artist

“I want my work to continue to push and evolve, questioning ‘what is Danish design?’”

About:

The work of Danish artist Mathias Bengtsson merges differing design languages and processes into collections that convey the layered and complex way in which he creates. Produced with the aid of cutting edge tools, his work fuses natural forms with science and technology, pushing the imaginative boundaries of what functional art can be in the 21st century; the symbiotic relationship of form and function working side by side. Constantly exploring new materiality within each piece, the raw material remains the hero – always presented in a way that highlights their natural qualities.
